Meet the original multi-tasker, Lita Lowe, as she dares to pursue both love and her career in the cutthroat world of the 1950s cabaret scene.
Originally produced by bagg theatre Company, Smoke & Pearls is a brand new devised production which features songs of the mid-twentieth century – both the familiar and forgotten – including Wives and Lovers, Blue Room, I’m A Woman, Somebody Else Is Taking My Place, and Lollipops and Roses. The show involves a mixed media of tricks with film and projection and also whisks you back into the era with its elaborate and elegant 1950's costumes and set. Already showcased at three intimate cabaret-style venues provided perfect settings for Smoke & Pearls: the Battersea Barge, the Southwark Playhouse bar, and the Canal Café Theatre. Production is underway for future performances of Smoke & Pearls so get ready to gather round a candlelit table with friends, relax and enjoy a drink while Lita Lowe entertains you in her own unique fashion.
